Enrolment options

Te whāinga/the aim of this module is to introduce students to the social work profession. This will include the history of social work internationally and in Aotearoa New Zealand, the language and core concepts of social work, the Aotearoa New Zealand Social Work (ANZASW) Code of Ethics and bi-cultural practice, and social work in the context of social justice.

Students will have the opportunity to consider strategies and principles of self-care for social work practice and to gain a beginning understanding what it means to be a professional social worker.
