Student Accessibility Services is here to enable students' academic capabilities by supporting any student who may experience any barrier to fully accessing their studies due to an impairment or disability. We work with all areas of Wintec to provide inclusive support systems, build independence and opportunities for students.
We accept that disabilities and impairments come in many shapes and forms, which is why we offer a diverse range of services to support students' individual need.
If you're enrolled or looking to enrol at Wintec and have been diagnosed with a physical, sensory, learning, psychological impairment or illness, we encourage you to contact us to discuss how we can support you during your studies.
This maybe by providing:- A notetaker for you in the classroom,
- reader /writer for exams,
- extra time or quiet space for exams,
- mobility parking,
- support by liaising with tutors,
- software/technology solutions,
- walk-through campus for accessibility option and/or,
- equipment or other practical support.

NOTETAKERS/READER/WRITERS REQUIRED
Casual Notetakers/Reader Writers are needed at both our City, Rotokauri and Gardens campus.
The role of Notetaker is to sit in class and take notes for students who are not able to complete notes for themselves and the Reader/Writers are to support students with exams.
These positions are casual contracts, the hours of work will vary depending on your availability.
You will need the following:
* A minimum of one year's successful tertiary study
* Excellent typing skills and tidy, legible handwriting
* Excellent English, spelling and grammar
* An ability to write full and accurate notes at speed
* Be reliable, punctual and discreet
* Be regularly available (this may include 8 am starts and/or 5 pm finishes)
* Have good computer skills and be contactable via cell phone
