Blogging

Please don't be put off by the word 'Blog' if its new to you. All it is is an online journal - a digital notebook - that you can share with me. You will be using your blog to record your thoughts and reflections throughout this module. Just like you might use a paper notebook.

PLEASE NOTE: Your Blog is a REQUIREMENT but it is not assessed. *It will NOT be shared with the world as some blogs tend to be*

AND REMEMBER: You are not being assessed on your use of technology - I can help as much as you need smile

OneNote

Create your Notebook:

  1. Access the Wintec Staff Intranet/ Office 365 system and go to your OneDrive.
  2. Click on the '+New' button to create a OneNote Notebook.

Share your Notebook:

  1. Once inside your notebook, click on the 'Share' button to the top right. Enter my name or email address to send me the link. Ensure 'Can Edit' is selected.
  2. From then on I will be able to access it and watch your progress as you add to it over the course of the module. I'll even be able to leave comments for you to read.

Structure your Notebook:

  1. It is recommended that you set up a new section for each Session on Moodle.
  2. Then each Activity (1.1.2, 2.3.4 etc) will be a new page with each section.
  3. Add your thoughts/reflections/answers to each of the pages as you work through the module.
  4. Watch for different coloured text with a little icon to the side to indicate comments that I have made.

Mahara

You may wish to establish your blog as an ePortfolio in the Wintec Mahara system. If you do you may wish to create a new page for each session of the module, then group them together in a collection. You can also set up individual pages for sections of the assignments.

Please remember to share all your pages with me from the beginning so I can see and comment on your development.

If not...

If this just isn't working for you, by all means use what's the most comfortable for you. If that means paper - then so be it. Just please find a way to get your notes to me on a regular basis. All the Wintec printers can scan your paper notes so you can email them to me. That's just as easy as printing.
